Sony's special Tokyo meeting on the 27th January

Sony will hold a meeting on the 27th January in Tokyo to discuss "business [overview] and strategy".
That's already confirmed by Joystiq. But we don't know whether the MCV and VG247's sources are right.
They claim that this meeting will be the launch for the new PSP2.
According to Sony it's no major trade debut,  just a Tokyo meeting [of unknown spectacle]. But then again the 3DS unveil was a normal random press release.
Guess we'll have to wait until then.

Nexus S receives Meego+Ubuntu ports

Apparently the Nexus S received two OS ports this week. The first OS is Meego in its very raw and unfinished state. The Nexus S accepts the new OS without any flashing. You just need to copy the OS files into the internal memory. It's possible to drop Ubuntu into the Nexus S memory with just the same method.
Very helpful to developer's and people that need a variety of OS' on their phone.

PS3 Jailbreak now available with Full Custom Firmware

Yesterday, George "Geohot" Hotz demoed some nifty homebrew on a PS3.

It wasn't only a crack but a full custom firmware that he released to the world today.
In its current state it'll only let you play homebrew and no backups.
Meanwhile Sony announced that they will fix it with some network updates, but according to pytey from the group failoverflow it won't be that easy.
"The only way to fix this is to issue new hardware... Sony will have to accept this."Well let's see what the future holds for us.

3DS Battery Life Official Numbers Unveiled

So Nintendo unveiled the official numbers of the play time per charge for their new 3DS that will hit US stores in March. The play time for a 3DS title is 3-5 hours and 5-8 for an old DS title. It'll take up to three hours 30 to fully charge the battery. The numbers for the older versions play time are:
DS 10-14 hours, DS Lite 15 to 19 hours, DSi 9 to 14 hours and DSi XL 13 to 17 hours.
But with the new 3D features it really is inevitable to charge it more frequently.
And it's still better than the battery life of my PSP Slim that won't even last 5 hours of pure gaming. :/
